The official re-opening of The Copper Penny is scheduled for the weekend of May 22, after the major fire in downtown Estes Park last Fall. We lost a major portion of our downtown business section. It is ironic that the re-opening of our store is co-incidental with the 60th Anniversary of The Copper Penny.
The Copper Penny was almost devoured, but for the heroic men of our great Estes Park Volunteer Fire Department, along with engines from, Loveland, Longmont, and Fort Collins.
New merchandise is arriving daily, and the staff is getting ready for a grand re-opening in another couple of weeks. You can follow The Copper Blogg
It is ironic that the Copper Penny celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year and here we are, starting all over again, with a brand new store, new merchandise, a few different people, but in the exact same location as 60 years ago!
This year, we have added some new and exciting lines, including McCall’s Country Canning Candles, the scents of which you will die for! Classic of the month is “Chocolate and Berries”. My favorites are Cherries Jubilee and Fresh Country Apple. Oh, shades of grandma’s house.
This coming year marks 60 years of serving the public in the same location in downtown Estes Park, Colorado. Although the building was ready for business in the Fall of 1949, the formal opening did not take place until Easter weekend of l950.
We are a family-owned and operated business, and this is a family oriented store. We take a great deal of pride in our friendly staff and our record of courteous service. Most of our products are made in the USA and Canada, and all are backed up by both manufacturer’s warranties, as well as our 30 day money back guarantee.
We will be introducing a new web site for The Copper Penny this Summer. This is the fourth version of our site – www,ThePenny.com – as we continually upgrade every year in an effort to provide you, our customer, faster and better service. The original site had it’s debut in the Fall of l996.
We brought two new web sites on stream last year, www.CoasterSales.com/ and www.ChamiliaGifts.com/. The first contains a complete list of popular Thirstystone products, including the University and College designs, as well as the new “Carsters”. Chamilia is dedicated to allowing you to design your own necklaces and bracelets with individual beads and charms, including an exclusive licenced Disney line.
Last week we introduced www.BarlowSales.com/ featuring the full line of great products for men, including their much vaunted “Barlow Knife” collection. Ladies, if you need a place to shop for your man, check out the beautifully engraved pocket and penknives, the assortment of sports and wildlife designs on traditional belt buckles and money clips, and the really neat cherry wood Valet Boxes.
Watch for news of our brand new site – www.ManualTapestries.com – coming this Spring. The site features New Woven Tapestries & Throws from Manual Woodworkers, Luggage, Handbags & Totes, Grande Tapestry Wallhangings, IJ Garden Decor, Blankets & Baby Gifts, Ceramic Dinner Settings, Kitchen & Home Decor, Linens and more…
We hope that some day you will come and visit our beautiful valley in the Colorado Rockies. Of course, it would be great if you dropped into the store and said “Hi”. We sure would enjoy meeting you!
